Gulgula with pancake flour batter

2 cups pancake flour
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup water
1 very ripe banana – mashed
5 tbs sugar
1 tsp ground cardamom
1/4 cup of raisins
1/4 cup chopped dates
A few drops of red food coloring- optional
Oil for deep frying

Tāoru METHOD

Add all dry ingredients and mix well
Add water and make it into a batter
Add mashed banana and mix well
Add a few drops of food coloring
Heat the oil in a non stick pan on medium flame
scoop a little bit of batter with your fingers and drop them in the hot oil and fry them until they are light golden brown

SERVE HOT

Note
*I personally did not measure anything so taste the batter before making gulgulas

Tips

* Coat the raisins and dates with a little bit of flour so they don’t sink to the bottom of the batter.

* Make the batter 2 shades darker than the color you desire

*Pancake batter has got a little salt in it so add a little bit more sugar if desired .

*Add more water if the batter is too thick and add more flour if the batter is too thin
