Tin Mutton with Potatoes – curry

1 can tin mutton
1 big russet potato – peeled and cut
1 small onion
4 chilies- thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic – chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
3 cloves
1 tbs tomato paste
2 cardamom pods
1 small piece cinnamon stick
2 tbs cooking oil
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp jafna roasted curry powder – optional
1 tsp coriander powder
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
Cilantro for garnish

Heat oil in a non stick pan on medium heat
Add cumin seeds, cloves, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick and chilies and let it sizzle in hot oil for 30 secs
Add onions, saute until light brown
Add chopped garlic and saute until brown
Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Add 1/2 tsp garam masala
Add 1/2 tsp jafna roasted curry powder – optional
Add 1 tsp coriander powder
Add 1/4 cup water and cook for 1 minute
Add potatoes and salt and mix well
cover and cook for 5 minutes
Add the tin mutton and mix well
Cover and cook on med- low flame for 20 mins or until the potatoes are tender
Add cilantro for garnish
