18-20 Big Prawns – cleaned and soaked in juice of 1/2 lemon
8 garlic cloves – crushed
3 tbs ginger – crushed
4 red chilies – crushed
1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp paprika
1 medium onion chopped
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
2 sprigs curry leaves
2 tbs cooking oil
Salt to taste
Cilantro for garnish
METHOD
Marinate the prawns in the first 8 ingredients- set aside for 15 mins
Heat oil in a pan on medium high
Add oil, then cumin,mustard and curry leaves
Add onions and let it slightly brown
Add marinated prawns and cook it on low heat for app 20 mins
Add 1/4 cup of water for a saucy consistency
Add cilantro for garnish
Serve with Roti
